Fishing
off Pemba Island
Some
of the most exhilarating and challenging fishing is available in
the blue waters of Pemba. Zanzibar is connected to the African continent
by a shallow submerged shelf and as such is considered an extension
of the mainland. Pemba is a real island, separated from the mainland
by depths of over 3000ft. Pemba has been known for centuries as
the Spice Island depending on most of its existence on the production
of spices such as
cloves and nutmeg.
Fishing
off Zanzibar
Known
throughout the world as the jewel of the Indian Ocean, Zanzibar
has a romantic colourful history of seafarers and explorers, of
riches and tragedy and the dark stain of slavery. Zanzibar is connected
to the African continent by a shallow submerged shelf and as such
is considered an extension of the mainland.
A favourite
trip for groups, parties, and corporate entertaining using luxury
MY Kisiwani as a live-aboard mother-ship and 1 or 2 of our sport-fishing
boats. This enables the anglers to have a good day's fishing trying
for their grand slams, whilst the non-anglers are content doing
activities such as scuba diving, snorkelling, wind surfing, reef
fishing, sunbathing or exploring time-deserted islands and their
secluded beaches. It also affords you the luxury on board Kisiwani
of air conditioned cabins, showers, TV, video, sundeck, some of
the finest cuisine afloat, ice cold drinks, beer and wine (bring
own spirits if required) and a very friendly and resourceful crew.
